Frequently Asked Questions

It’s okay to ask

“Ask and it will be given to you. Seek and you shall find.”

- Matthew 7:7

When should I apply?

We strongly encourage prospective fellows to apply early. Space is limited and our program fills up quickly. The early application deadline is November 15th. Apply early, but please don’t rush. Space Coast Fellows will likely be one of the most significant and formative years of your life. It will open doors in your career, your faith, and your life. Hurrying or cutting corners will prevent us from getting to know the real you. Please take the time you need to get it right.

How long does the admissions process take?

We make every effort to make an admission decision within 4 weeks of receiving your application. The early admissions deadline is 11/15. The standard admissions deadline is 4/15. Rolling admissions is after 4/15. A nonrefundable deposit of $500 is required within 14 days of acceptance to the Space Coast Fellows to confirm your place. This deposit will be applied to the total tuition fees at the start of the program year in September and is non-refundable.

How much does it cost to be a Space Coast Fellow?

The program fee is $6,500 for the year. This program fee covers nearly all expenses for the program, including books, course registration fees, community meals, and retreats. Income made from your internship can be used at your discretion.

What about support raising?

Space Coast Fellows are encouraged to invite their home church, friends and family to join them as prayer and/or financial partners. Support contributions are tax deductible (except those paid by parents and the fellow him/herself). It is expected that more than half of all Space Coast Fellows raise at least part of their program fees.

Are scholarships available?

Yes, a limited number of partial scholarships are available to qualified applicants. Please contact us for more information.

Are there other Fellows programs around the country?

Yes. Space Coast Fellows is part of The Fellows Initiative (TFI) network of fellows programs. There are more than 30 like-minded programs in this network. Each program is unique, so you should do some research about which ones might be right for you. We are happy to help you work through these decisions.

What is Trinity Wellsprings Church like?

TWC is a mid-sized, beachside Presbyterian (ECO) congregation. We are known for our relationally authentic Life Groups, Christ-centered expository preaching and vibrant family ministries overflowing with children and students. Worship is inspiring and intergenerational. Our mission statement is “Being & making fully-alive missional disciples of Jesus Christ who overflow into our community and world.”

What other requirements are there?

The following must be true by September 1st of your program year:

  •  Must be between the ages of 21 and 26

  • Must have earned a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States

  • Must NOT be married or have children

Can you be married or engaged?

Engaged, yes. Married, no. However, planning a wedding is time-consuming. It is strongly encouraged to plan your wedding day for at least a month after the end of the program. The last month is a very busy time of year for the fellow. Not only is the fellow focused on finding a job and a place to live, he or she is also dealing with finishing the program well and attending many year-end activities.

Can I make a visit before I decide?

Yes, of course! We would love to meet you in person. Please remember Space Coast Fellows launches in the fall of 2023 so there will not be an active, in person program before then. However, we would love for you to arrange a visit anytime.

How many fellows are there each year?

In our first year, we hope to have 4-6 Fellows, but we are planning on 8-12 in the years following.

Will I need a car?

Yes, this is important. Program activities take place all around the area and public transportation is limited. Carpooling will be available and is encouraged.

Is this a Christian internship?

Most of our internships are with secular organizations - companies, nonprofits, and government offices. Space Coast Fellows is a Christian leadership and vocational development program, but our internships are not only with Christian organizations. We have a wide range of internships in many career fields to help you explore your vocational interests after college.

Any last tips I should know about?

One of the most important tips is not to treat Space Coast Fellows as a “gap year”. Space Coast Fellows just might be the hardest (and best) year of your life. Let’s get to work!
